There are three “Types” in Music 1. These are audio card types; Music, Non-Music and Advert or Spot. PlayoutONE may have many different Types of it’s own, such as Jingle, Liner, Promo, etc.
Selection Categories are the type that allow having songs in two categories at the same time. When a Selection category (or any other) is no longer needed, you can delete it. But first, you have to remove all the song cards that it contains.
Music 1 automatically imports new audio metadata that is imported into the PlayoutONE automation system. It will import only the “types” of audio that you choose and will omit importing unnecessary audio data.

Some stations go all in with loads of Holiday music during the season. Most of us add it lightly, sprinkling the songs of the season into the regular music mix. That can be done quite efficiently by cloning and editing format clocks, substitution the Christmas categories where desired. To use the auditioning player that is on the Song Cards, Music 1 has to have the full drive\path\file name for each audio file entered in the File field. There may come a time when you need to change the drive letter or even the full path File.
