We’ve all been asked by our friends and contacts for updates on our situations here in the new world. I’m in contact radio folks around the globe and I’m feeling warm with so many “hope you are OK” messages coming to me. I’m just peachy, thanks. Here’s our short story. My partner Neil Campbell reported a milder case of the Co-Vid, he thinks (but not tested yet). He was feeling funky for the most part of two weeks early in the month. He’s back on the clock now. My older son is career army, in the band and stationed at Ft. Lewis in the Seattle area. His guys started dropping in January. It got him in late February and he was a mashed bug for two weeks. He’s recovered and is now enjoying the first extended holiday he’s ever had as near the entirety of the US military is closed for business until next Monday, the 4th. My second son touched down in early March for a long-planned two month culture immersion Columbia. The first two days he was sick with a mild stomach virus, then he was out and about for three days of exploring. Then he was locked in at an Airbnb in Medellin for five weeks. He could go out for groceries twice a week. His taxi was stopped at a check point one trip. He got on a flight home on the 16th. He said: Very weird going to the deserted Miami airport and there were just 5 people on the flight from Miami to Austin. Off the plane, before leaving the airport, he was checked twice and had to sign a sworn affidavit that he would self-isolate for two weeks. Six days after he was home, a cop knocked on the door to confirm he was in the house and being a good self-isolater. So, now all are safe and well. As for myself, I’ve been self-isolating for about 20 years now, so no big change for me. Except the gym is closed and my swim schedule has been kaput.
PlayoutONE Promo
I was asked to make a few short demos of the MusicONE/PlayoutONE connection for a marketing company. Here’s the first one below showing the basics of the M1/P1 meta-data exchange. MusicONE works with every automation system in the radio world, yes. But, this is a partner company and we have the tightest integration with it. It’s the one named after us, after all. If your automation system is ready to be retired, please call me for a chat about PlayoutONE rates and options.
