Music 1 Updates

Like all great software, MusicONE and TrafficONE are in the state of constant evolution; new functions are added, other functions are enhanced, discovered bugs are repaired. The upgrades are named as Revision numbers.  To see the one you have installed, open the About… menu in your M1 or T1.

You do not need all of the updates. Updates apply primarily to the Professional Edition and to the TrafficONE traffic/billing module within it. Music 1 SE is built same source code, so we build and post a new SE each time the pro version is updated in order to keep the revision numbers in sync for the two. Since SE does not have the advanced functions of Pro, few updates are necessary or important for SE users. We do advise all to not get too far behind in the version/revision number you currently are using. Open M1’s ‘about’ menu to see the Revision you currently have.

To download the latest update, open the Upgrade menu above.

7.0.799 – Release 5.24.22

–installed new XML import/export function for the Dalet/Galaxy automation system.

7.0.785 – Release 10.3.21

7.0.784 – Release 9.21.21
–This is an important update for stations using PlayoutONE.  A long elusive bug has been trapped and removed from our M1/P1 interface.  Sometimes, M1 would suddenly encounter an error and display a message like:  “Can’t find record xxx in line xxx”. It would shut down. Upon restart, everything worked as normal.  The tripping point was happening when PlayoutONE was importing and/or processing a number of audio files at the exact microsecond that M1 was checking to see if there was anything new to import and/or you moved a song to a different category and M1 was attempting to write the category move to the P1 database.  PlayoutONE users should update to Revision 784.  Use the upgrade menu at the top of this page.

7.0.779 – Release 8.9.21
–TrafficONE’s order separation algorithm has been improved. Previously, it was seeking “ideal” separation to spread the ordered spots precisely throughout the day or across the ordered time slots. This could create need for more hand-editing/placement of spots when other scheduling rules interfered with the ideal spread. T1 now longer seeks a predefined goal and instead will optimally separate given all the other rule restrictions.
–TrafficONE’s ability to balance the content of spot breaks has been improved. If a station has three Spot Breaks and different Fill Priorities for them, T1 can now accommodate situations where un-even fill is desired. Example:  Break One will have 3 minutes allowed, Breaks Two and three will have 2 minutes allowed. Break 1 will fill completely, then the remaining Advert content for the hour will be balanced between Breaks Two and Three.
–When working with the PlayoutONE automation system, M1 now allows category changes in P1 to be replicated in M1. This was previously not allowed because changes in the number of songs in a category can have dramatic changes in the rotation pattern of all songs in the category.  It is best to use M1 for all category and formatting functions so any content changes and be checked with the Average Turnover chart. To have P1 category changes to to M1, you must enable the function in System Settings on the Automation>Player Specific

7.0.778 – Release 5.2.21
–A rotation glitch was discovered and repaired in TraffficONE Packets. In some instances, the tracks within the Advert packet were not rotating evenly. In a 2-track packet, one of the spots might be getting a few more schedules than the other.
–TrafficONE can now print an invoice without issuing it and can generate an advance invoice through the End Date of an order (called “Final”)—not just the “Next” invoice that would be issued (usually through the end of the current month.
–TrafficONE now exports log schedules for DigitalJukeBox and DigitalJukebox Zone

7.0.776 – Release 4.10.21
–A bug was found and repaired in the “Unschedule Hours” function.
–Updated the playlist file content for the Simian automation system
–Improved the Account Adjustment function in TrafficONE, now allowing the user to enter a specific date to the adjustment.
–Updated the date format reported in a Track Plays report exported from TrafficONE to .csv
–Fixed a glitch in the TrafficONE Templates function where not all template settings were saved
–Added the function in T1 to show an advance invoice for the full order period rather than just the current billing period (usually month).
–The allowed number of items that can be added to a format clock has been increased to 90.

7.0.762 – Release 1.4.21
–New function adding for selecting and printing multiple TrafficONE invoices. If an invoice has not yet been issued, the print command will issue and then print it.
–Also for T1, you can delete a payment and the effects of the payment will be completely undone–including the effect on the account’s cash/trade balance.

7.0.758 – Release 12.2.20
–Improved the ‘fill break completely’ function in TrafficONE
–Added ability to have many more Avail types in TrafficONE
–Added the new “Custom” command-type to the PlayoutONE functions

7.0.760 – Released 12.18.20
–Added new playlist output for StationPlaylist automation system to create a log that Station Playlist can merge with the syndicated radio format being provided by United Stations Radio Networks distributing Scott Shannon’s True Oldies Channel.”
–New icons on the main screens.

7.0.745 – Release 9.30.20
–There have been several updates to correct minor glitches in TrafficONE, all stations using our traffic & billing software should get this update.
–There is also some new code to handle Type changes between MusicONE and PlayoutONE.  The need cropped up when we found some tracks were imported into M1 from P1 with the wrong Type  When a talk program came into M1 as a song (because it was entered as a song in P1), then converting the card in M1 from music to non-music had a glitch that was re-engineered.

7.0.736 – Release 8.18.20
–An update for the Simian automation system in this one. When two or more stations are connected to one master Simian database, each station will need a station-identifying prefix before the playlist/log file that M1 creates for it.  A single station uses a long file named mmddyy.log .   In this situation, the log for one will be named:  WXXX-mmddyy.log   and the other could be:  WYYY-mmddyy.log
We’ll be showing Simian users that need this how to do the quick setup to make this happen.

7.0.733 – Release 7.30.20
–This is an important update for stations using PlayoutONE. There’ve been a number of cases where stations have several people importing new songs into P1 and many have imported the same songs.  MusicONE has been importing tracks from P1 based on the UID/Cart number, thus it allowed duplicate song cards to be created with the Same Artist and Same Title provided they had different UID numbers. This created a problem because when opening a song card that has a dupe in M1, we are required to change something on one of the cards manually so it won’t be seen by the scheduler as a true-duplicate. Now when M1 imports from P1, it will cross-check the Title+Artist in P1 data and will not import a Title+Artist dupe.
–Another important change for P1 users. Manually changing the UID on a P1 audio card was causing M1 to read that card as a totally new track, then making a new M1 card for it, a duplicate with the new UID, leaving the original card with the original UID.  This has been updated now to prevent that. A changed UID in P1 will change it in M1.

7.0.729 – Release 7.3.20
–An accidental glitch was discovered and returned to normal. The Gender Run rule was not being recognized correctly.

7.0.723 – Release 6.4.20
–TrafficONE reconcile with Myriad automation system added

Revision 706 – Release 2.25.20
–Repaired a bug with drag-and-drop of songs in Category moves that developed within the connections to PlayoutONE and only affected stations with that automation system.

Revision 704 – Release 2.19.20
–Repairs glitch where the SoundExchange report generator wasn’t recognizing some of the logs in a reporting period correctly.

Revision 703 – Release 2.10.20
–Repairs a recent coding error that caused a failure to connect to a PlayoutONE database when manually connecting the first time.
–Imports the Artist for an existing track from P1 if the artist was initially blank in still is in M1.
–Corrects the drag pointer alignment on the selecting Category name when moving song cards.
–TrafficONE printing to .pdf is now much faster to process.

Revision 700 – Release 1.23.20
–A helpful little addition. On the Clocks Assignment Grid, when you click on one of the slots for any hour of the week, the clock in that hour will open for editing. (Pro only)

Revision 696 – Release 1.1.20
–corrected a minor problem where Windows10 was not ‘releasing’ M1 immediately after quitting.  Relaunching M1 immediately after closing it, sometimes Windows would message that “Music 1 is already running”.
–for PlayoutONE users, there’s an adjustment in the Connect-to-PlayoutONE function so it won’t be frequently asking to find the P1 database. This was a problem for slower machines on slow or over-burdened networks.
–New fields added for the TrafficONE/Harmony/TruCast automation system.
–Update to the Rivendell playlist file.

Revision 693 – Release 12.23.19
–Added some new internal fields for the TruCast radio automation system. TruCast is a customized edition of PlayoutONE for stations associated with Gem Media radio rep firm.
–Added some names to the columns in the Format clock Log view.

Revisioin 690 – Release 12.4.19
–There have been several updates related to the PlayoutONE automation system, correcting a few minor glitches. The “Import From PlayoutONE” command is now much faster. This will be most noticed by stations with very large libraries. All stations using P1 should update to this release (or the latest one.)
–Added a command to “mark log as finished” for a log that has been saved, then opened, then closed. This prevents the next day’s log to be run until the log the earlier log is again internally marked as “finished”. Previously, we had to open the log, click run and save again to re-register the finished log.  Now there is a command for this under the Edit menu.

Revision 681 – Release 10.21.19
–Some adjustments to the XML playlist output that M1 delivers to the Dalet Galaxy automation system.
–TrafficONE update now automatically ‘charges’ the previous day’s log for accounting.

Revision 672 – Release 8.27.19
–Repaired a recent bug that caused M1 to crash when moving songs from one category to another.  This bug only affected stations using the PlayoutONE automation system.  As it was moving the songs, it was also launching the import new tracks function at the same time. We think this got into M1 with Revision 668 or 669.

Revision 664 – Release 8.6.19
–TrafficONE added .trf log file export for iMediaTouch (and others). T1 now reconciles with iMediaTouch using this log format.
–fix to make the PlayoutONE Type import settings stick in System Settings.

Revision 653 – Release 7.2.19
–fixes the glitch which sometimes cause Music 1 to lose it’s PlayoutONE Type import settings.

Revison 645 – Release 5.6.19
–Found and fixed a glitch which could sometimes cause M1 to lose the Type Import settings for the PlayoutONE automation system.

Revision 642 – Release 4.17.19
–TrafficONE update in this one fixes a just discovered glitch that could cause a problem when a non-music category was deleted.
–M1 will no longer import Artist meta into the Product field on non-music cards.

Revision 640 – Release 4.12.19
–Fixed a glitch that allowed TrafficONEto over-schedule some breaks.
–Updated one Command field for PlayoutONE
–Updated the Maximum Units field on Spot Break Properties for more clarity.

Revision 627 – Release 1.9.19
–The Announcer Names form was accidentally disabled in one of the recent builds. We’d click the little mic icon and the form would not appear.  It’s back to normal with this one.

Revision 626 – Release 1.7.19
Three TrafficONE  updates with this one
–Added a checkbox “Also allow as filler” to the Order Item window.
–Removed the “Do not record bumps” option since bumps will automatically be ignored if you check either Bonus Spot” or “Schedule as filler only”
–Fixed an error where the “Break too short” rule violation was being generated for breaks that aren’t set to fill completely.

Revision 622 – Release 12.5.18
–Two new commands added for PlayoutONE; these to allow for the insertion of automated Time and Temperature announcements. They are “ANNOUNCE TIME” and “ANNOUNCE TEMP” and are on the list of Command types for the Clock Item properties.
–Updated the .csv import to better handle UTF-8 files.
–Repair to the SoundExchange report generator that had been affected by another recent code update.
–M1 will now import multiple non-music tracks with same Title, provided they each have a uinique UID/cart number.  This is for stations that may have, four example, five jingles and the title of each is only:  Jingle   In the past, each unit had to have a unique title (Jingle 1, Jingle 2, etc).

Revision 616 – Release 10.10.18
–This is an important one for stations using the PlayoutONE automation system. There are a number of internal connections that have been updated to better move track meta-data from one database to another.  IMPORTANT:  This one works only with PlayoutONE 3.26 or later.
–There is a minor update in the playlist file Music 1 creates for the Enco DadPro automation system. If your M1/Dadpro is performing just fine, no great need to get this. The update adds a little code field that tells Dadpro to segue non-music units with cross-fades (playing over the intro and fade of songs).

Revision 598 – Release 8.13.18
–The playlist Music 1 creates for the Simian automation system now includes the category names of the non-music elements. Earlier version did that for only the music categories.  With the category names in the playlist, Simian can then be color-coded to your display preferences.

Revision 597 – Release 8.8.18
–This one is important for users of the automation system:  PlayoutONE.  We found and fixed a bug that could, in some cases, cause M1 to create duplicates of some Category names in the P1 database.

Revision 588 – Release 6.12.18
–The SoundExchange report that is hard-wired into M1 was including some non-music units in the report that shouldn’t be there. It caused one station’s report to be rejected.  Now repaired.

Revision 586 – Release 6.4.18
–When one single hour (or a few of them) in a finished schedule need to be redone, this update preserves the Log Notes that may have been manually added to all of the other hours. It also preserves the spots (and manual editing fo them) that have been already scheduled (by TrafficONE) in the other hours.
–The SE version was not remembering the chosen “types” for import from P1.

Revision 566 – Release 2.9.18
–We’ve made some updates for stations using the PlayoutONE automation system who want to do their scheduling from a laptop or other computer that isn’t connected directly to the PlayoutONE .  Now, when the station library.m1 file is opened on the laptop, it won’t continue to call for the P1 database during a work session. And, song cards can be manually added whereas in normal ‘connected’ use, all Song Cards are created by P1 and automatically imported into M1.
–Harmony automation/playout system added to the list.  This is a customized version of PlayoutONE created with and for Synchronicity.co the digital distribution, ad insertion technology company.

Revision 556 – Release 12.17.17
–It’s about 10 times faster when starting a schedule or opening the editor for a track. Talking fractions of seconds here, if your library is small, you may not notice; but it’s quicker.
–There was a fix for an infrequent crash that happened during schedule on a very large database. We’re talking 30,000+ tracks there.

Revision 554 – Release 12.5.17
–SoundExchange’s new emphasis is on reports that include Total Performances, something only the stream host is capable of monitoring and tabulating. CentovaCast does that and can provide an as-played log file that includes the total performances and the ISRC, but they apparently can’t deliver a SoundExchange-compliant royalty report. So, what we’ve done is built into M1 a function that will read that CentovaCast report, merge it with our data and then deliver our regular report but now including the ISRC.
–Several updates and minor bug fixes in TrafficONE. A station asked to have a requirement that every spot break have at least one unit in it. Now, if a break is not filled with a regular paid spot, TrafficONEcan be directed to put in one unit from a filler category.

Revision 550 – Release 11.28.17
–M1 now delivers song ISRC data to PlayoutONE
-Daylight Saving Time function added to SE
-Several updates to TrafficONEfunctions.

Revision 531 – Release 10.3.17
–some recent work in database structure had m1 loading much more slowly than it previously had. this was particularly noticeable with libraries over 4-5000 songs. we put a little more grease into it now.
–there’s now a specific action built in to handle the bi-annual DST jumps and dumps of an hour for the PlayoutONE system.
–a glitch was detected and repaired that would result in the read-only backup file not being deleted at the end of a scheduling session as it should have been.
–TrafficONE now allows ‘bonus spots’ to be added to the original order; no need to enter a second order to get bonus adverts scheduled.

Revision 509 – Release 7.6.17
-added custom playlist output for TuneTracker playout system.
-additional tweaks for the TrafficONE/PlayoutONE break-matching commands. P1 can expand or compress the runtime of breaks; like if a network break is set for :60 seconds, but the scheduled advert content runs only :58 seconds, then P1 will stretch it to :60.  This could potentially create a problem with other stations in the network where M1 is directed to “match” the break content for the local broadcast because it references the “scheduled” length (:58),  With this update, M1 has wiggle-room that will allow the local station’s schedule to fill with proper matching content that does not have to be exactly, precise to the millisecond, thus can schedule without being stifled by slight differences in content length; the ‘network’ content length and the ‘local’ station break content length.

Revision 497 – Release 5.31.17
-New TrafficONEfunctions for spot break balancing for P1 network stations. PlayoutONE can stretch or compress the total length of advert break content so it matches the content of other stations’ breaks in the network.
-Repaired a glitch that sometimes caused an Artist to also be registered as a Product

Revision 485 – Release 4.19.17
-New code added to the TrafficONE auto-fill function. In previous versions, TrafficONEwas set to auto-fill with the least-number of spots. So, if a local break needed to fill 30 seconds, it would be filled with one :30 rather than two :15’s. This lead to the underplay of the :10 and :15 second adverts that would also be available for fill. The new code has TrafficONElooking to select the “most rested” of the spots in the fill pool.

Revision 446 – Release 1.23.17
-updated the Import-From-PlayoutONE function to enable user to prevent M1 from importing certain types of audio file records. best example:  daily voice tracks that are added to P1. Those go into the PlayoutONE database but there is no need for them to be imported into M1 as they are one-use and will not air again. you may now custom-name/define other ”types’ in P1 and then tell M1 to not import them.

Revision 446 – Release 11.30.16
-added reconcile function for the Zenon automation/playout system.
-updated the playlist file M1 creates for the Myriad automation/playout system.
-extended Track Plays report to non-music items. You can now select an individual track and get a text file listing of the date + play time for a date-range of your choosing.

Revision 427 – Release 10.4.16
-a minor modification to M1’s log file for the Myriad automation system. formerly, M1 allowed Myriad to auto-detect audio types. now, in the first column of the Myriad log file, M1 puts an S for Song, L for non-music units and A for Adverts.

Revision 425 – Release 9.15.16
-expanded and updated the NPR SoundExchange report function.

Revision 412 – Release 7.13.16
-TrafficONE sales projection reporting has been updated.
-TrafficONE receivables is now improved for future predictions.

Revision 389 – Released 1.30.16
-Update Cart function added to the P1 format within M1, making it easier to import scheduling data from another music scheduler into M1, keeping all of the song categories and song characteristics and then merging the P1 UID numbers onto the song cards in M1.
-correction for the reconcile function for iMediaTouch users.
-added a quick function to replace either the File data with the Cart field data, or vice/versa
-added function to mass change the drive\path in the Cart and File fields

Revision 361 – Released 7.6.15
–added to TrafficONE, a function to print ad copy, a copy-sheet for live announcer reads and to have these copy sheets print on individual pages at the time the daily log/schedule is printed.  To enable this, go to the Log Formats screen and select the option in the Style set up to Print Copy Sheet.

Revision 352 – Release 5.20.15
-added a system-specific playlist output for mAirList playout system.
